This is Day 05 of the BTS making of Link Creators Club.
Yesterday I left you on a cliffhanger.
I was heading to a co-working day at The Ministry; 90% hoping I'd run into the rep I'd been trying to get back in touch with.
What I didn't expect was how much more that day would give me.
I walked in, settled in, and did what I always do in a room full of interesting people - I started talking. Told people about LCC, what I was building, why I was building it. Spread the word, planted seeds.
Somewhere in that conversation, I mentioned I was looking for a photographer for the event.
Turns out, one of the people in that very room was a photographer. Not just any photographer, someone who specifically covers creator-led events. He's also the founder of Creators Trove, a magazine dedicated to creator stories.

Kismet.
I hired him on the spot as my event photographer. We sealed the deal with a selfie.
And yes…I did run into the rep.
He actually opened the conversation. I told him about the event, and without missing a beat, he said: "do it here." We cleared up all the miscommunication from before, and suddenly what had felt like a closed door… was wide open again.
The thing is, I had my WeWork meeting that Friday. I needed an answer before then.
So I sent him an email. And this time? It finally worked out. 🎉
This is exactly why I advocate going to networking events.
Running a business from your home office/remotely can be very slow somtimes (and limiting). Emails get ignored. Follow-ups get lost. Things that could take days or weeks get resolved in a 10-minute conversation when you're in the same room as someone.
Meeting people f2f has been my greatest business advantage:
I got my 1st speaking opportunity through attending an event.
I met my cofounder on LinkedIn and meeting in-person led to us starting a business together.
I secured my event photographer by meeting him at a coworking session.
This is precisely the kind of magic I want to create with Link Creators Club.
I'm not just bringing creators into the same room to network, but I'm also inviting brands who are actively scouting for LinkedIn creators to partner with. Real opportunities. Real conversations. Real deals.
This is the outcome I’m looking for. The vision for LCC is big.
