When I started planning a LinkedIn creators meetup, I knew exactly what I wanted the event to be about, i.e. "Community."
The most important part of being a creator is knowing how to build a community. Even better is learning how to monetize it.
I did not want to partner with any brand for this event, except Circle. I had my eyes set on them.
I run my paid LinkedIn community on Circle. I use it every single day. It's the platform I trust with my business. It's the platform where I interact with 70+ of my clients daily.
So I couldn't stand there talking about monetizing on LinkedIn if I was partnering with a platform I didn't actually believe in.
It had to be Circle. Or nothing.
I reached out to their team. The first person never replied. I wrote her 3 DMs and got left at seen. 👀
I wasn't mad. Why would they reply? I've never hosted an IRL event before...
But then I took advice from another creator friend, shoutout to Cory Blumenfeld, and he helped me locate "the right" person to reach out to.
I wrote a message that I got approved by Cory and sent it to him. The person replied in just a few minutes!
It was STILL not an easy yes.
We emailed. We had zoom meetings. We went back and forth for weeks. And somewhere in those conversations, they believed in my vision and said yes.
This is my first EVER event. I had nothing to show them. No proof. No track record. Just a vision and a girl determined to partner with her favorite community platform.
And we did it! 🎉
