So many LinkedIn Changes! What is Happening? Here’s the tea:

It seems like LinkedIn is finally taking feedback seriously.

They have been subtly improving features on their app and most (in fact all) of them have been well-received.

1. You can finally EDIT a scheduled post

   

   No more:

    

   • Delete, rewrite, schedule.

   • Delete, rewrite, schedule.

   • Delete, rewrite, schedule.

   Now, it is simple:

   • Edit, schedule.

2. You can now reschedule posts as early as 10-15 minutes ahead

   

   .

   I personally love this update. Sometimes you need to delay posting by 10ish minutes so that you can be present to engage with your audience when your post goes live.

3. An exclusive video feed is OFFICIALLY live.

4. LinkedIn launches Gen Z focused podcast via iHeartRadio.

   The weekly chat show ‘Let’s Talk Offline’ is about what it takes to thrive in the early years of your career. Will you be listening to it?

5. Video Carousels — Now what’s that?

   

   Videos are getting pushed on LinkedIn in this carousel format on your feed.

   The videos shown are algorithmically matched to you, and tapping into any of the displayed clips then takes you through to LinkedIn’s TikTok-like full-screen video feed, presented in vertical format.

Should you start creating video content on LinkedIn?

LinkedIn Algorithm secret:

Whenever a new feature is launched by LinkedIn, they test it out by giving it ‘extra’ reach. Why? They want to see how it gets picked up by the users.

2020: Polls were launched. They were the best performing format.

2021: Newsletter did well.

2022-3: Carousels were leading the game.

Most recently, LinkedIn audio has been performing great.

So, naturally — the LinkedIn Algorithm in 2024/5 is going to be biased towards video content. And if you wish to benefit from that extra reach, go for it. But yes, you can still very well succeed on LinkedIn without hopping on trends.
