[Origin Story] How I got started on LinkedIn (0 to 50,000+ followers)

On September 2022, I opened LinkedIn to find jobs after graduation.

I started applying to jobs like a machine. 10-15+ applications a day.

I kept receiving rejections after rejections.

One day on LinkedIn, I came across my friend’s profile, Indie Stowell.

She had found a job even before graduation, thanks to her personal brand.

That left me intrigued.

I went down a rabbit hole. Binged all her content. Got recommended to Sophie Miller’s profile (100k+ followers).

Sophie was hosting FREE webinars on personal branding on LinkedIn.

I signed up to each one.

Those webinar sessions helped me SO much. I even wrote a post about it, tagged Sophie and her engagement back got me noticed.

Since then, I have not looked back.

Fast forward to today:

I got to speak at GradFest 2024 on personal branding, with none other than my dear friend Indie.

Hosted a webinar with none other than Sophie herself + met up in London

Booked solid till Q1 2025!

And it all started with me attending those free webinar sessions.

Since then, my mantra has been: Lift as you climb.

I have promised myself to host free webinars every year to help out others who may be in the same boat as me in 2022. And guess what?

2025 guest list is INCREDIBLE (details on that later).
