Your LinkedIn profile is probably broken
(Here's how to fix it with ChatGPT)
Last month, I partnered with my lovely LinkedIn friend, Audrey Chia to spill the tea on her best LinkedIn profile optimization prompts.
It got a combined 116 reposts on LinkedIn, and 300+ downloads. So, let’s break them down in detail here.
Thanks to ChatGpt, you don't need to hire a $5K copywriter to fix your LinkedIn profile anymore. You just need the right prompts.
Before we dive in, I wanted to share an update on The AI Creators Club!
The AI Creators Club Update🎉
It’s been 3 weeks since I launched the AI Creators Club with Charlie Hills. And last week, we had our first Guest Speaker session with none other than, John Hu!!!

This is what I’m enjoying the most about running a community i.e. the conversations!
The session was so well received, and there’s SO many more to come.
Get in the waitlist to join the club, we share our best prompts, tips, and hacks in there.

Now back to the prompts. Let’s dive in.
🎯 Start Here: The Priming Prompt
Before you ask ChatGPT for anything, you need to prime it with context. This is the difference between getting generic garbage and getting copy that actually converts.
The Framework:
You are an expert conversion copywriter who's highly skilled in building personal brands for founders. Your task is to craft high-conversion copy for my LinkedIn profile. The goal is for my target audience to follow my LinkedIn page and learn more about what my company does.
Here's What You Need To Know:
Company: [Your Company Name]
Description: [What you actually do]
Target Audience: [Who you're trying to reach]
What I Talk About On LinkedIn: [Your main topics]
Why this works: You're giving ChatGPT a specific role (conversion copywriter), a clear goal (get follows), and the exact context it needs. No more generic output.
Example:
Company: Close With Copy
Description: We Provide Hybrid Human X AI Copywriting Solutions For Brands To Scale With Speed
Target Audience: Founders, Business Owners & Marketing Team Leads
What I Talk About: Smart AI Marketing And Copywriting Frameworks For Growth
Once you've primed it, every prompt you use after this will be 10x better.
Your banner is the first thing people see. If it doesn't communicate value in 2 seconds, you've already lost them.
The Prompt:
Can you write a one-liner for my LinkedIn banner and provide me with 5 options for each of these categories:
Category 1: Results Based
Category 2: Product Based
Make sure they follow a similar length as the examples above.
Results-Based Examples:
"Book 10+ outbound meetings every week"
"Write faster, more engaging content within 30 days"
"10X your growth in 30 days (unlock now for $0)"
Product-Based Examples:
"Flexible design support for marketing & branding agency"
"We execute growth strategies for Early Stage Ventures"
"The operating system for LinkedIn creators"
Why this works: You're forcing specificity. "Results-based" makes people think "what's in it for me?" Product-based tells them exactly what you offer. Pick the one that fits your brand.

📝 Headline Prompts: Your First (and Last) Impression
Your headline shows up everywhere—search results, comments, DMs. It needs to do two things: say what you do AND why it matters.
The Prompt:
Can you develop a profile headline for me. This should include what my company offers and what's in it for the audience. This is an example: [paste example]
Winning Examples:
"I help you create authentic AI content | DFY LinkedIn growth for leaders"
"Trained 56,289 people how to use LinkedIn for business"
"Helping 100+ founders use AI & LinkedIn to grow their online businesses"
"Building Brands That Convert | Copywriting + AI + Content Strategy"
Why this works: Notice the pattern? [What you do] | [Who you help + specific outcome]. It's clear, specific, and benefit-driven.
💼 About Section Prompts: The Framework That Converts
This is where most profiles die. They either ramble about themselves or list boring credentials nobody cares about.
Here's the framework that actually works:
The Prompt:
Can you craft an about me section using this framework?
Framework: Struggling With [Problem 1], [Problem 2], Or [Problem 3]? You're Far From Alone.
You Essentially Have Two Paths:
- Undesirable Option
- Desirable Option

Explain your solution (clarity)
Make an offer (CTA)
This framework converts browsers into followers and followers into clients.
📊 Bonus: The Content Strategy Prompt (This Is Gold)
Once your profile is dialed in, you need content that keeps people engaged. Here's how to build a content matrix:
The Prompt:
As an expert LinkedIn strategist, I want you to develop a content strategy for me using the content matrix I have provided.
Your Output:
1. 3 proposed content buckets per theme per funnel stage
2. Pick a suitable hook & write a strong hook for each bucket
3. One liner description of what I should talk about
Please structure your output as a table
LinkedIn Post Themes: [Your themes, e.g., Copywriting, AI, Entrepreneurship]
Example Output:
Theme | Top of Funnel | Mid of Funnel | Bottom of Funnel |
|---|---|---|---|
Copywriting | Trending Topics | Niche-related updates | Client Wins |
Contrarian Take | How-to-Guides | Case Studies | |
Analytical Teardown | Actionable Tips | Testimonials |
Why this works: You're mapping content to the buyer journey. Top of funnel = awareness. Mid = consideration. Bottom = conversion. This prevents you from posting randomly and hoping something sticks.
🎁 Featured Section Prompts: Prove Your Expertise
Your Featured section is where you showcase your best work. But most people just pin random posts.
The Prompt:
I want you to brainstorm some ideas for me. As an expert LinkedIn strategist, could you give me some examples of what I could feature?
Add 1-2 items in this section. Any more will get confusing.
Consider: lead magnets, coaching, online courses, free trials, testimonials
Smart Featured Section Ideas:
Your best-performing case study
A free lead magnet (checklist, template, guide)
Video testimonial from a client
Your signature framework (downloadable PDF)
Free consultation booking link
Why this works: You're giving people a next step. They land on your profile, see your expertise, then have an immediate way to engage deeper.
☕ The Bottom Line
Your LinkedIn profile isn't a resume. It's a sales page.
Every section should answer one question: "Why should I care?"
These prompts give you a proven framework to:
Hook people with your banner
Convert them with your headline
Build trust with your About section
Keep them engaged with strategic content
Give them a next step with your Featured section
Stop guessing. Use the framework.
Your move:
Copy the priming prompt and fill in your details
Start with your headline (it's the highest-leverage change)
Use the About section framework (this is where conversions happen)
Build your content matrix (consistency beats perfection)
Hope you enjoyed the read.
See you next week,
Fatima Khan
